The ‘Hipster Nativity Scene’ – Yep, It’s Real and It’s Causing Controversy

Modern Nativity

Here we go again.  It’s Christmas time and the world is going crazy.  Where Christian beliefs are concerned you should always expect the unexpected.  I believe the objective is to desensitize people by adding humor or the absurd to the sacred.  When I was growing up in the 8o’s I never seen this type of behavior.  We were allowed to celebrate the Birth of Jesus and enjoy the season with gifts and food and laughter…why is that a threat?

I’m reminded of a quote that puts this all in perspective:  “When a toxic person can no longer control you, they will try to control how others see you.”

How many Christians do you think have been detoured from Christianity by these types of attacks?  (Rhetorical) This is not about Christians, it’s about those who are naïve enough to listen to made up jargon and rhetoric then form their opinion based upon lies.

Casey Wright, a co-founder of Modern Nativity, told CNBC. “It’s usually, ‘This is hilarious, I need one,’ or ‘This is sacrilegious, I hope you burn in hell,’ and almost nothing in between those two extremes.”

You can tell by the reactions, there are conflicting opinions.

From cruxnow:

I don’t know about you, but I wish this Godless world would keep their ideas to themselves.

Some would say that it’s not that big of a deal.  I disagree.

According to cruxnow, a group of friends came up with the idea over a few beers… Does this sound like good intentions?
