He Did What? Man, Fights Kangaroo to Save Dog – “He could have been killed.”
Greig Tonkins, (34) from Australia proved that man is dog’s best friend. I’m not sure Greig knew about the concerns or just didn’t give a flip.
A video showing the Aussie fighting a kangaroo is trending majorly, allow me to elaborate.
Greig, who was out with a few pals hog hunting, came upon a troubling scene where his hunting dog was being attached by a kangaroo. Like it was no big deal, the bloke ran over to the kangaroo and punched it in the kisser.
The kangaroo stood shocked and confused after the right hook landed and then hopped off in retreat. This still doesn’t quite do it justice so lets get a little more info from the professionals shall we?
From National Geographic:
“The guy’s very lucky because he could have been killed,” says Marco Festa-Bianchet, a National Geographic explorer who studies kangaroos and who is a biologist at Université de Sherbrooke in Quebec.
Contrary to popular belief, kangaroos don’t normally try to box, or punch, each other, says Festa-Bianchet. Instead, they prefer to balance on their strong tails and kick with their powerful back legs.
“If the kangaroo had done that to the guy it could have disemboweled him,” says Festa-Bianchet.

It sounds like Greig should’ve thought things through before taking action, but sometimes you don’t have time to think.
You gotta love this guy… nothing gets between a man and his mutt.
