Controversial Abortion “Heartbeat Bill” Passed
Stand-up comedian Jena Friedman’s made a disgusting comment recently on the “Stephen Colbert’s” show that even had the audience gasping instead of laughing – “Get your abortions now because we’re going to be [xxxxxx] and we’re going to have to live with it.” (Townhall)
I couldn’t believe she said that. This is the type of “entitlement” attitude we’re dealing with in this country and something needs to be done about it. It looks like the Ohio Senate couldn’t agree more…
A law banning abortions once a fetal heartbeat can be detected has been approved by Ohio’s state Senate. (Usually detected at 6 weeks)
This would end up being one of the strictest abortion laws in the country if the “heartbeat bill” becomes law.
Currently the Ohio House of Representatives is controlled by the Republican party 65 (R) – 34 (D).
Pro-choice supporters feel the law would be unconstitutional, so you know there will be much said about the bill in the days to come. Many skeptics believe that Ohio will face costly legal battles over the legislation.
The Supreme Court will have the last say in the matter, and as of right now two pro-life justices would need to be added for the bill to have any weight even if passed.
With Donald Trump as the President elect, this change could happen. We must start somewhere.
