Wife of Convicted Terrorist, Disrespects Judge – Immediately Regrets It…
Let me break it down for you if I may. The second wife of Hamdi Alqudsi (who was found guilty of recruited martyrs to fight in Syria), decided she’d dishonor a judge at the Sydney District Court on Wednesday.
Alqudsi, his wife and her two teenage sons are suing for assault and battery that supposedly took place in 2014 during a counter-terrorism raid. (The lawsuit is against the Commonwealth of Australia and New South Wales.)
Moutia Elzahed refused to stand when Judge Audrey Balla came into the courtroom for religious reasons according to her lawyer, Mr. Evatt.
When questioned by Judge Balla concerning Ms. Elzahed’s actions, Evatt said ‘She’s a Muslim, Your Honour, a strict Muslim and according to my instructions she won’t stand for anyone except Allah, which I’m not particularly happy with, Your Honour’.
Judge Balla replied, ‘just wanted to check she’s received advice… Each occasion she doesn’t do it may be a separate offence.’
Right Wing News reported: “The NSW government this year initiated a new offence for contempt of the court. The offence went into play on September 1 and a maximum penalty of up to 14 days in prison and or a fine of up to $1000 if a person is found guilty, is also attached to it.”
Judge Balla is a no-nonsense kind of guy. When Ms. Elzahed refused to remove her niqab (black cloth covering every part of her body except her eyes) last week, the Judge refused to hear her testimony.
