Should Teachers Be Allowed to Carry Guns In School? This School Thinks So…
public school review
This is a step in the right direction. Obviously this type of action must with be coupled with proper education. Seeing that teachers are involved I’d expect nothing less.
With proper training in place, the idea of arming teachers and other school staff is one that should be practiced on every school campus in America.
Isn’t sad that we have to vote on these issues? Who would have imagined our schools would be in such disarray in regards to safety.
It is time we face the truth, step up to the challenges, and implement a plan to remedy them.
A rural school in Colorado is doing just that.
From The Blaze:
DENVER (AP) — A rural Colorado school district decided to allow its teachers and other school staff to carry guns on campus to protect students.
The Hanover School District 28 board voted 3-2 Wednesday night to allow school employees to volunteer to be armed on the job after undergoing training.
The district’s two schools serve about 270 students about 30 miles southeast of Colorado Springs, and it takes law enforcement an average of 20 minutes to get there. The district currently shares an armed school resource officer with four other school districts.
I’m sure there will be opposition and protest for this decision. Sadly, that’s part of “current” America right now.
Nevertheless this is still a step in the right direction.
